This is a real honker! Lol! It seems quite sturdy and heavy too. I like the incline device that folds up on the left side; the little “telescope?on the bottom is a nice idea. I have a very expensive compass that I know is right on to magnetic north ?this one matches perfectly. All in all, I really like it; if I had to find a negative point, I’d think it would be the compass's weight. 🤷♂?If you're looking to travel light, you may want to pick another compass. I spent time as a Navy Hospital Corpsman (it's like a medic) for the 2nd Marine Division in the '70s, and we liked to shed weight as much as possible. I wouldn't take this on an extended hump for 15 miles; otherwise, it's great!

This compass is the highest quality compass ive owned as far as durability, free and smooth accurate needle rotation. The clinometer is an invaluable tool as well. Excellent value, just know it is a bit heavy for a compass but i still give it 5 stars.
This was bought as a gift, and the recipient liked it very much.
